Diskodiktator – Det trötta hatets stad

Release date: 2026-06-05

Swedish electronic pop duo Diskodiktator return with Det trötta hatets stad (“The City of Tired Hatred”) – a vivid, synth-driven panorama where Malmö’s restless streets meet intimate memories and razor-edged social observation. Cold, pulsing electronics carry lyrics that balance satire and tenderness: relationships that leave marks, nostalgia that clings to place, and a city that never quite goes quiet.

Two guest writers deepen the album’s sense of character and chorus: Bob Nimbe of Maskinpop delivers the tragicomic spoken-word rush of Den lomhörda rebellen (“The Hard-of-Hearing Rebel”), while Vogon Poetry brings warmth and time-traveling longing to Mina kvarter (“My Neighborhood”). Also released on CD with exclusive bonus tracks, Det trötta hatets stad is a record that mutters, laughs, and remembers – inviting you to step into its nocturnal glow and stay for the whole journey.

Popsicle Theory & Ninjaspark – In i det okända (Ninjaspark Remix)

Release date: 2025-10-11

Popsicle Theory is known for crafting emotional soundscapes with nothing more than a Game Boy – where pixels become melodies and retro nostalgia meets heartfelt intimacy. Previous works such as “Dreams”, “Kaleidoscope” and “Shift and Recover” have already established her as one of the most exciting voices in modern bitpop.

The single is an explosive remix from Sweden’s Ninjaspark, pioneers of the Swedish bitpop scene since the mid-2000s. The band, which returned in 2024 after years of silence, has always combined energy, humor, and 8-bit nostalgia in a way that both captivates festival audiences and challenges the music scene. Here, they take Popsicle Theory’s dreamy original and inject it with their own chaotic playfulness and dance floor energy.

The result is a colorful journey into the unknown – where two different bitpop traditions meet and fuse into something entirely new.

Ninjaspark & Sturm Café – Europa

Release date: 2025-09-06

The friendship between Swedish bitpop heroes Ninjaspark and legendary EBM outfit Sturm Café has already brought us the instrumental version of “Europa” – a synth-driven war cry that echoed across dancefloors and digital battlegrounds alike. But this was only the beginning.

On September 6 the sonic alliance returns in full force with the vocal version of “Europa” – a track that fuses chiptune energy with old-school body music and delivers a message as bold as its beat. Featuring lyrics in German that speak of unity, power, and a mythical European future, this new version elevates the track into anthem territory.

“Europa, Europa, Europa – heiliges Land!”
The mantra rings out like a rallying cry, set against a backdrop of pounding rhythms and vintage synthesizers. It’s a call to attention — or perhaps a call to arms — for a continent caught between hope and history.

Part retro-futuristic propaganda, part synthpop banger, “Europa” stands as a testament to what happens when genres collide and kindred spirits collaborate.

Boy Theory – Boy Theory

Release date: 2025-06-27

From the fluorescent kitchens of New Jersey’s suburbs to dance floors across the globe – here comes Boy Theory, the all-girl electronic band that doesn’t just think outside the box – they set it on fire.

Sisters Sue, Hannah, and Mindy Johnson aren’t here to ask for permission – they’re here to take over! With a presence larger than life and a sound that’s both nostalgic and future-forward, they’ve created something you’ve never quite heard before. Their debut single “Boy Theory” isn’t just a couple of songs – it’s a manifesto.

Each track is soaked in glittering ’70s synth magic, but with a raw edge that only comes from a band that couldn’t care less about rules. This is music for those who want to feel alive – who aren’t afraid to dance ugly, shout loud, or let every beat pound through their chest like a furious neon heart.

Think Telex on a space station, Yellow Magic Orchestra with a punk soul, and a splash of futuristic glam – all shaken into a sonic cocktail that’s equal parts charming and chaotic.

Boy Theory is not just a band. It’s a movement. A glitter-fueled rebellion pulsing with eyeliner and electricity. They’re not just dropping tracks – they’re reshaping the very idea of pop music. The soundtrack of the future has arrived!

Quelles Paroles – Signal Drop

Release date: 2025-04-04

Electronic pop duo Quelles Paroles returns with “Signal Drop” — a release that marks the end of an era. Featuring the tracks “Stunning” and “Don’t You Play”, the single reflects the band’s early sonic identity while hinting at an unknown, yet exciting, future.

“Signal Drop is a farewell—or maybe an ‘Au revoir?’—to a sound that has defined us so far. What comes next? We don’t know yet. But electronic instruments will always be part of our journey,” says Andreas Axelson, the band’s main songwriter, who forms one half of the duo alongside vocalist Magnus Johnsson.

Produced by Tomas Erlandsson and Andreas Axelsson, the single has been mastered by Brian Hazard at Resonance Mastering in the US, ensuring a polished and dynamic sound.

Quelles Paroles debuted in the early 2000s, appearing on several compilation albums alongside a string of acclaimed singles and albums. Their latest release, “Black Suit”, came out in 2017. Now, after a long hiatus, the duo returns with “Signal Drop” — two songs that are both nostalgic and innovative, encapsulating the band’s history while offering a glimpse into an unknown future.

Diskodiktator – Darling

Release date: 2024-11-29.

Diskodiktator returns with a unique single that blends the past and the present: “Darling.”

The story behind this track is as intriguing as the melodies it holds. During the recording sessions for “The World According to Diskodiktator” in 2004, vocal tracks featuring Ellen Lundgren were captured but for various reasons the song was never officially released. When these recordings were recently rediscovered the idea emerged to create something new — a completely reimagined version centered around Ellen’s expressive voice.

With lyrics like “She wears a cotton blouse / She looks like Mickey Mouse / And when she smiles at me / There’s no one else I’d rather be” the lovesong “Darling” captures the naive yet sincere romanticism that Diskodiktator is known for. The song conveys a light-hearted playfulness while carrying a deeper longing, reminiscent of the band’s early years.

Musically, the band has taken a step back to its roots, but the new retro sound gives “Darling” a modern feel that is as timeless as Ellen’s voice. The result is a single that feels like a love letter to their history and a new beginning all at once.
