Topgun returns!

The legendary Topgun is back [legendary, according to Cold War Night Life – the fabulous online magazine for electronic music and culture]. And although the band’s upcoming album “Fuck Up and Die” is planned for a early 2017 release, founding member SEM Hilti Johansson, has re-grouped the band as a quartet – with both old and new members – and they are currently in a democrazy mode.

TopGun 2017 is the logic continuance of the 2005 release “TopGun Vs. Hiltipop Rewired” which claimed fame with hard-hitting songs like “Honey” and “The One”.

So expect an eclectic blend of modern EBM with fierce, danceable, beats and pounding rhythms. Juxtaposed against the more aggressive musical stylings are – as always – the softer, raw vocals, with a flair of 80’s synth-pop delivery.

More releases on the way

After several months with very little activity the Electric Fantastic Sound label suddenly bursts into hyper active mode in the late spring of 2015:

The debut album from PMtoyou has already been announced, there is also a brand new album by Anton Weber coming in late May. As if that wasn’t enough Diskodiktator releases another issue in their series of let’s-cover-a-whole-album with the second album by original space pop giants S.P.O.C.K entitled “Alien Alien Worlds” in early June (on the 6th day of June in fact).

Later on this summer we’ll also see a new EP from Topgun and there is even talk of new material from Quelles Paroles! Keep an eye out for more!

Topgun review in Side-Line Magazine

Topgun here reveals a perfect match between alluring EBM bass lines and catchy pop elements. Some of the bass lines remind me of Pouppée Fabrikk while the arrangements, melodies and vocals are pure pop-minded. There’re several terrific songs in the genre and after having heard this stuff I can only regret this band never gained a wider recognition.

Summer Update

Dear friends and fans, sorry for the recent lack of updates. There are a number of interesting things in the pipeline such as the new album by Social Ambitions called “Hunger” which was released a few days ago. So far it has gotten excellent reviews and we’re still looking for more. “Hunger” is available for download and on limited edition CD in selected stores. Social Ambitions - Hunger Diskodiktator will – for the first time in ages – take to the stage as the band invades Germany and the Familientreffen IX on July 6 and in November Diskodiktator and Topgun will embark on a two date Swedish tour. We’re also very excited to learn that The Crashlanders have started recording new material…
